Surratt House Museum Structural Assessment - Clinton, MD
Client: The Maryland National Capital Parks and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC)
Prince George’s County
Scope of Work: Structural Assessment
Year Completed: 2025
INTECaec worked with Tarantino Engineering Consultants to conduct structural investigations at the 1852 historic Surratt House Museum, a house and tavern linked to the events surrounding the assassination of president Abraham Lincoln.
The house has significant settlement, with door frames and flooring skewed by a few inches. The safety and integrity of the structure were in question.
Several site visits were performed, with test pits and some floor board removal for additional access to see the foundations and floor framing.
A detailed report with the findings and prioritized recommendations was prepared for the Museum and M-NCPPC.
